Gallery of Jewels began as a dream shared by two. That dream has since grown to encompass the shared vision and commitment of 14 dedicated employees. Gallery of Jewels was conceived as a place to showcase Ornaments by Dona, the fledgling fashion jewelry company founded by owners Bill Hoover and Dona Taylor, and the jewelry of five of Dona’s designer friends.

What began as a small operation in 1990 has since expanded into two unique galleries showcasing the work of over 100 talented artists. Though the scale of the concept along with the number of staff has grown, the Gallery of Jewels mission has remained the same since its inception: build a strong artistic community, support those artists to the fullest, and bring quality jewelry to our clientele.

The Store at Sollano 16 was born out of a woman’s love for Mexico. Twenty-five years ago, Anne Harte began immersing herself into the business and academia of Latin American art and design. After frequent journeys from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende, she fell in love with this small 'high desert' city, nestled in the mountains. In 2000, an 18th century Spanish Colonial building became available in San Miguel’s Centro—located just a half block from the Central town square (Jardín) and main cathedral (Parrochía). Anne's store then became a wonderful reality.

Anne has created an exquisite "Home & Lifestyle" environment for people who want to experience the magic of San Miguel de Allende and beyond. Sollano 16’s collection features unique products from all over the world—many hand crafted, bold and bright—as well as beautiful Mexican furnishings and accessories. Carefully curated by Anne herself, The Store has been a stylish mecca for locals and tourists alike for the last 20 years.
